Activist, Martins Otse popularly known as VeryDarkMan on Friday stormed a branch of a major commercial bank in the company of his mother, whose account with the bank has allegedly been subjected to inexplicable deductions.
VeryDarkMan, also known as VDM, shared a video of the visit to the bank on Facebook.
The controversial activist stated that his mother’s account with Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO), better known as GTBank, has been debited on multiple occasions purportedly to repay a loan that she never took.
“Myself and my mom just arrived GT-BANK to get an explanation for the constant debit from her account from gt bank in the name of loan repayments that she never took,” he stated.
He alleged that the account had been debited more than seven times in 2025 for so-called loan repayment.
Screenshots of bank transaction receipts he posted indicated the sums of N3,665.95, N3,409.08, N3,472.49, N4.30, N10,989.02, N19,379.56, N8,920.02, N3,468.87, N230.88 were deducted from the account with “Loan Repayment” as transaction description.
“We have requested her bank statements so we know when the debiting started.
“So far in this year alone there have been more than 7 debits on loan repayments. GT BANK STAFF ARE COOPERATING.
“Hopefully we know why they keep doing this,” VeryDarkMan added.
Chief Communication Officer for GTCO Plc, Oyinade Adegite could not be reached for comments.
