Operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) have arrested two principal suspects allegedly involved in the killing of 16 travellers in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government, last week.
The suspects were said to have been arrested in Uromi following credible intelligence. It was learnt that operatives of various security agencies are hunting for other key suspects involved in the unfortunate incident.
It was also gathered that the two arrested principal suspects have been transferred to Abuja for further interrogation and prosecution by the relevant authorities.
Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo had on Monday, during a condolence visit in Kano State, revealed that 14 suspects had already been arrested in connection with the killings.
The governor, who visited the state to condole with the government and families of the victims, had vowed that justice would be served and those involved in the killing would be brought to justice.
Besides, he also assured the families of the victims that adequate compensation would be paid.
