Naturally, ordinary human beings struggle to achieve success in one career. That makes those who excel in two callings superhumans and not of the same species as some of us. To find an individual such as James Akinwande who is excelling at the top of several vocations at the same time is extremely and unbelievable
James Akinwande hails from Ondo Town, Ondo State. He embodies international law, which makes him hugely suitable for the many paths he has chosen to thread in life. He has been living in London, United Kingdom for more than 28 years and he stands as representative and consultant to top Nigerian celebrities, due to his knowledge and versatility in legal practice in Europe and North America.
The most interesting part of James Akinwande is that he is also an inventor, despite his humongous resume in legal studies. It is commonly said that “oil and water do not mix”. However, the father-of-three completely defied that explanation by science that both are immiscible. A lawyer by training but he recently created an innovation that is set to revolutionise cooking forever. It remains a mystery how arguing cases and filing papers on clients’ behalf metamorphosed into impacting the world through invention.
James Akinwande, an impassioned golfer is also the International Artist Manager for Kenny Blaq and Artist International Compliance Consultant for famous Nigerian celebrities such as the likes of Ay Makun, professionally known as AY, and Brodda Shaggi, whose real names are Samuel Perry, to mention a few.
James Akinwande is a product of London Metropolitan University with over 19 years of experience in Legal Compliance, Business and Immigration Law in Europe and Canada. His vast knowledge of international legal practice has been valuable in the discharge of best service and representation to his clients.
He studied Electrical Electronics Engineering at the Ondo State polytechnic, Owo, and proceeded to the Federal University of Technology, Akure, which he left in his third year of studies, to continue his university education at the University of East London; Birkbeck College; University of Westminster and finally, the London Metropolitan University.
The sort of superhuman James Akinwande has emerged to be is a function of years of refinement within the four walls of classrooms for quality education. Since 1998 after his secondary education, he did not ceased to add to his long list of academic records until 2007.
Akinwande’s breakthrough in cooking device has listed him as one of the 50 Nigerian-born inventors, with his latest invention licensed by the UK intellectual Property Office.
The Nigerian, who has been married for over 25 years, credited his wife, Rowena, for the innovation, which he hopes would be in every household around the world in years to come.
“The idea was birthed in 1999 but we were so poor and could not afford the patent fees… or prototype.
Fifteen years later, In 2014: God had blessed us enough to find the invention from design to patent fees… they don’t come cheap at all. You don’t want to know how much this has cost till date.
I discovered “INNOVATE”.. who helped with an acceptable design and connected us with the best Patent lawyers in Britain.
We applied in 2015 and my patent application got an approval in 2019”, he explained.
“My invention was ordained by God. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to talk much in-depth about it as of now due to negotiations with major players in the industry who are in the process of partnering and buying a bigger stake in the product. However, my name and the product are listed on the UK intellectual property website for the world to see.
“It has been a great achievement and I give the glory to God. But I am presently not looking at that as I still have other feats to achieve. I would love my invention to be seen and used by every household all over the world and more importantly having its values and legacy passed the generation after me”.
Recounting his foray into managing and consulting for A-list Nigerian actors and comedians, he said it dates back to almost 20 years ago.
“We started in 2005 with Ben T.V. I am not sure if I am allowed to mention the names of the A listed artists we consulted for, due to the confidentiality agreement we signed back then; but as for Kenny Blaq, Brodda Shaggi and Ay Comedian. I believe favour of God and experience in Legal Practice has contributed immensely to this,”said James Akinwande.
