…As 40 Graduates Earn First Class at Law School

The Faculty of Law, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC), has recorded a remarkable milestone following the successful accreditation of its law programme by the Council of Legal Education on February 14, 2025.

In a further testament to its academic excellence, 40 of its graduates bagged first class in the 2024 final Bar examination at the Nigerian law school.

The premier Nigerian Law Faculty did not only pass the routine but rigorous accreditation exercise, it also received high commendation from the Council of Legal Education, and a recommendation to increase the Faculty’s admission quota into the Nigerian Law School from 220 to 250 students.

Reacting to the dual achievements, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Prof. Oguejiofo Ujam, described the developments as a reflection of the University’s unwavering commitment to excellence.

Ujam commended the Dean, staff, and students of the faculty for upholding the high standard to which the premier Nigerian law faculty is known.

In a remark, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof Festus Ukwueze described the achievements as a “no mean feat”.

He expressed profound gratitude, on behalf of the staff and students of the Faculty, to the University Management led by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof Ujam, for its support and encouragement.

Ukwueze also extended heartfelt appreciation to the alumni of the Faculty, praising their unwavering commitment and generous contributions.

The Dean also noted that the success of graduates of the Faculty in the 2024 Bar Final Examination, recently approved by the Council of Legal Education during its meeting on April 17, 2025, is a reflection of the Faculty’s high academic standards, strong infrastructure, and exceptional teaching staff.
