Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke will on June 8 inaugurate a 2-storey 57-office unit complex in the state university College of Health Sciences, Isale Osun, Osogbo.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the university, Ademola Adesoji, stated that the governor will also inaugurate a 350-capacity Student Hostel at the University’s Main Campus, Osogbo.

Noting that within the first week of Adeleke’s assumption of leadership position in the State, he approved the Vice-Chancellor’s proposal for the completion of the office complex which had been abandoned since 2011, and provided full funding for the completion of the building.

“The Executive Governor of Osun State and Visitor to Osun State University, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, will be commissioning a 2-Storey 57-office unit complex in the University’s College of Health Sciences, Isale Osun, and a 350-capacity Student Hostel at the University’s Main Campus, Osogbo, on Thursday, 8th May, 2023, by 11:00 am.”

“In the same vein in 2022, the University, through its internally generated revenue, purchased an abandoned hostel building from the Staff Cooperative, Investment and Credit Society (CICS) of the University and proceeded to complete the construction of the hostel within record time,” it added.

The statement quoted the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ayo Adebooye, as appreciating the government for the intervention, saying it would help the College of Health Sciences keep the hard-earned accreditation of its MBBS and allied health programs by the NUC, and also solve the problem of insufficient offices for the various academic units.

The Vice Chancellor also expressed satisfaction with the University’s growth from its non-residential status in 2006 when it was founded, to its current residential status, aimed at enhancing students’ life and well-being in their studies at the university.
