President Bola Tinubu on the sidelines of the 78th United Nations General Assembly, which will take place in New York from September 18 to September 26, 2023, will meet with major chief executives and leaders of multinational firms cutting across multiple sectors of the economy, the presidency has said.
Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, said the President will meet with the Global President of Microsoft, Brad Smith, to discuss how to further Nigeria’s digital transformation and how to broaden the nation’s digital economic footprint so that the micro and small businesses will have access to the internet
Additionally, he’ll also meet with the Head of Global Affairs for Meta Technologies, Nick Clegg, to leverage on new innovations such as artificial intelligence and other applications to impact the way business is done in Nigeria henceforth.
President Tinubu is also scheduled to meet with the global CEO of General Electric to discuss investment in the power generation, aviation, engine production for multiple modes of transportation, amongst many other inputs.
He will also meet with the Global CEO of Exxon Mobil Oil and Gas Company, to lay out in detail what Nigeria has to offer with respect to the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act and the fiscal and tax incentives to further advance investment in the oil and gas sector.
He will also participate in Africa Global Business Initiative, and other important summits focusing on Sustainable Development Goals and climate ambition.
He will hold bilateral meetings with various world leaders with emphasise on investment and economic development diplomacy, the statement added.
The bilateral meetings will be with President of the United States, Joe Biden, President of Comoros, Azali Assoumani, President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the European Union Commission, Von der Leyen, Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte King of Jordan, Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón.
