Two persons died while 22 others were injured yesterday when a building collapsed on Oremeta Street, Ojodu, Lagos.

The 3-story building housing a restaurant collapsed in the morning but emergency emergency responders, including the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the police were at the scene to rescue 13 occupants while one person was unlucky and died while under the rubble.

According to South-West coordinator, NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye, following distress alerts at 8:32 am, NEMA, Lagos State Command raced to the scene and rescued 13 victims while a male adult body was recovered.

He said the cause of the building  collapse was yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

As at press time, emergency responders were still on with their recovery operations.
