The Nigerian Army said its troops on counter-insurgency operations in Kaduna State have killed two terrorists and recovered some arms, ammunition and other items.
The troops were said to have come in contact with the terrorists while conducting clearance operations in the area.
The troops subdued the terrorist elements during an ongoing operation at Gama Gira Village, in Igabi Local Government Area, resulting in the elimination of 2 armed members of the terrorist group.
On exploitation, the troops recovered one AK-47 rifle and one magazine loaded with 7 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition. Other items recovered during the operation are one Tecno mobile phone, a phone charger and a cash sum of One Hundred and Two Thousand, Ten naira only.
In a separate operation, troops recovered one PKT gun from fleeing terrorists at Jangeme Ruwan Kunku general area.
The recovery was made after troops exploited the general area following a sustained operation that led to the dislodgement of the terrorists in the area.
The gallant troops are maintaining aggressive operations to clear the remnants of the insurgents in the general area.
