Troops of 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have foiled a robbery incident and arrested an armed robbery suspect, Emmanuel Thomas Oryiman, near Kasuwa Shenu in Takum Town, Taraba State.

Captain Olubodunde Oni said this in a statement on Saturday.
He said the special operation which recorded the commendation successes is aimed at denying criminal elements the freedom to operate and to foster security within the brigade’s area of responsibility, Taraba and Benue States.
Oni said the troops under Operation Golden Peace were conducting aggressive patrols along the Takum-Katsina Ala road on Thursday, December 12, when they encountered the robbery incident.
He said the swift intervention led to the arrest of the suspect, who was found in possession of one locally fabricated pistol and two rounds of 9mm ammunition.
“Additionally, troops conducted aggressive fighting patrols around mountainous terrains and identified flashpoints in Ardo-Kola and Yoro Local Government Areas, further consolidating efforts to neutralise threats and maintain law and order.
“Troops acting on a distress call regarding bandit activities in Manzala Village of Yoro Local Government Area on 13 December 2024, immediately mobilised to the location.
“Following a hot pursuit, they successfully rescued three kidnapped victims, who have since been safely reunited with their families,” he said.
Oni quoted the Commander, 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brig.- Gen. Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa as commending the bravery, professionalism, and swift response of the troops.
He said the brigade commander also assured the public that the Nigerian Army would remain resolute in its commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
“The general public is encouraged to continue supporting the troops by providing credible information to assist in the fight against criminal elements,” the statement reads in part.
