Manchester United have shown ‘serious interest’ in signing ex-Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen in the January transfer window in a bid to bolster their manager Ruben Amorim’s squad.

Christensen, who presently plays for Barcelona, has made only 75 appearances since coming on a free transfer in 2022.

During his debut season with Barcelona, the 28-year-old made over 30 appearances and helped the club win the LaLiga title.

He has barely featured for Hansi Flick’s side this current season due to fitness problems.

Christensen, however, returned to training over the weekend as he looks to get his career back on track.

But according to Mundo Deportivo, Man United and other Serie A clubs are showing serious interest in a January deal for Christensen and are not concerned by the player’s recent injury lay-off.

Following the Red Devils’ disappointing start to the 2024/25 season, Christensen would be a valuable addition to Amorim’s squad.
