NASCON Allied Industries Plc, a subsidiary of the Dangote Group, has announced the appointment of Tonya Lawani as an independent non-executive director on its board.

Lawani, a seasoned corporate strategist and governance expert, brings over a decade of experience in leadership, board service and business development to the company.

Her appointment, which took effect on Monday, June 30, 2025, highlights NASCON’s plans to strengthen corporate governance, drive innovation and sustain growth within Nigeria’s manufacturing and food processing sectors.

Currently the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Seal Group, with offices in Lagos and Benin, Lawani is known for her advocacy for ethical leadership, inclusive growth, and capacity building across Africa’s business landscape. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (2004), and an MBA from the Metropolitan School of Business & Management, United Kingdom. She is also an alumna of the Lagos Business School’s Owner Manager Programme.

Lawani’s leadership credentials include serving on multiple corporate boards and addressing global audiences, including youth entrepreneurs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Directors (M.CIoD).
