To many young technocrats who are interested in public service, Tokunbo Phillip Wahab, former Special Adviser on Education and now Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources in Lagos, has become a beacon of inspiration.

The corporate lawyer, now a public officer, initially made his mark in the educational sector in the state and, more recently, in charge of the environment where he has initiated a series of transformative measures aimed at revitalising Lagos’ environment and conserving its precious resources. Under his leadership as commissioner, Lagosians are witnessing a renaissance. As a shrewd politician and strategist, Wahab believes that true power lies not in dominion but in devotion. He is a friend to many, a brother to more, and a quiet force behind so many triumphs that will never grace the news.

Despite his enviable financial attainment as a successful attorney and now as a top ranking member of Lagos State Executive Council, Wahab remains approachable, relatable, and emotionally present in the lives of those around him. It is this deep humanity that has earned him affectionate respect.
