Wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu on Monday commissioned the School of Law Building named after her by the management of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, Kano.
Oluremi expressed satisfaction with the facilities put in place at the University and thanked the University for naming the law Schools building after her.
“Iam delighted for being honored at this occasion and I am not taking it for granted as I will continue to support the youth because education is the key to freedom, ” she said.
She also announced a N50 million endowment fund for the best graduating students in law in the University.
In his remarks, the founder of the university, Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo said the vision of the university is to be a world class university renowned in teaching, research and service to humanity.
Gwarzo, who spoke at length about the university, restated its commitment to providing quality education in Nigeria and beyond.
Tinubu was accompanied to the occasion by the former First Lady, Maryam Sani Abacha, Minister of State, FCT, Mariya Bunkure, former Minister of Women Affairs, Poline Tallen, wife of the Secretary to Government of the Federation and the wives of 17 state governors.
