Office of President-elect, has dismissed speculations that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, travelled out of the country on medical grounds.
The statement signed by Tunde Rahman and made available to newsmen in Abuja, claimed the President-elect travelled out of the country to have a deserved rest after energy-sapping presidential campaign.
Revealing that he left Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja for Paris France on Tuesday night, the statement further explained that he will also attend Umrah (Lesser Hajj) in Saudi Arabia.
It disclosed that while away, the the former Lagos State governor will also use the opportunity of his stay in France to plan his transition programme, announcing that the date of his return is unknown.
“After a very exhaustive campaign and election season, President-elect, Bola Tinubu, has travelled abroad to rest and plan his transition programme ahead of May 29, 2023 inauguration. The President-elect left the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja for Europe on Tuesday night.
“The President-elect decided to take a break after the hectic campaign and election season to rest in Paris and London, preparatory to going to Saudi Arabia for Umrah (Lesser Hajj) and the Ramadan Fasting that begins Thursday.
“While away, the President-elect will also use the opportunity to plan his transition programme. He is expected back in the country soon.
“We enjoin the media to stop publishing rumours and unsubstantiated claims and to always seek clarifications from our office,” they warned in the statement.
