President Bola Tinubu is set to return to Nigeria today after a two-week working visit to Europe, the Presidency has confirmed.
Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, via his verified X handle tweeted: “President Bola Tinubu will return home today.”
Tinubu left Nigeria on April 2 for Paris and later traveled to London, where he remained in constant contact with the government’s officials and continued to oversee national affairs, including issuing directives to security chiefs on emerging threats.
The Presidency had emphasised that Tinubu’s absence was temporary and within the previously communicated timeframe. Despite being abroad, he remained fully engaged in governance, with his administration functioning effectively under his leadership. His return follows the conclusion of the Easter holiday.
During his time away, President Tinubu reviewed the progress of his administration’s mid-term reforms and engaged in strategic planning ahead of his second anniversary in office. The Presidency also addressed public concerns and opposition calls for his return amid rising insecurity in parts of Nigeria, assuring citizens that governance continued without interruption during his absence
