President Bola Tinubu and former President Muhammadu Buhari have extended warm felicitations to former Governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, as he celebrates his 60th birthday.
President Tinubu, in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, praised Amaechi for his dedication and invaluable service to Rivers State, where he served as Speaker and two-term Governor. The President prayed for continued good health and success for Amaechi and wished him well in his future political endeavours.
In a separate statement, former President Buhari described Amaechi as a “golden fish” and a key asset to his administration. Buhari expressed gratitude for Amaechi’s leadership in revitalizing Nigeria’s railway sector, emphasizing the minister’s role in completing abandoned projects, initiating new ones, and transforming the railway system into a vital transit network. According to Buhari, in a statement by his media aide, Garba Shehu, Amaechi’s efforts have led to increased network capacity, improved safety, and the introduction of new services, benefiting millions of Nigerians.
Both leaders wished the former minister many more years of happiness and service to the nation.
