Founder of Tingo Group, Dozy Mmobuosi, has resolutely refuted accusations of manipulating Dozie stocks to deceive shareholders.

Speaking at a recent press conference in Lagos, Mmobuosi dismissed these allegations as groundless and part of a broader campaign orchestrated by certain Western interests with ulterior motives.  The press conference, titled “Clearing the Air: My Struggle Against Western Bias,” provided Mmobuosi a platform to clarify the context behind the allegations. He explained that his significant investments in the beverage and telecommunications sectors, as well as his acquisition of Sheffield United, a storied British football club, have faced resistance and intimidation from influential Western forces.

Mmobuosi emphasised his dedication to advancing Nigeria’s growth through substantial investments in various sectors, including agriculture, media, healthcare, and telecommunications. He underscored that his investments are driven by a genuine commitment to national development and not by any intent to defraud.

“My strategic investments and the acquisition of Sheffield United have unfortunately attracted undue opposition,” Mmobuosi stated.

Continuing, he said: “This resistance appears to be rooted in discomfort with my success as a Black African entrepreneur. Nevertheless, I remain steadfast in my mission to positively impact Nigeria and other fair-minded countries.”

Rejecting the claims of financial misconduct, he asserted: “The allegations that I manipulated Dozie stocks are wholly unfounded.

“These accusations are fueled by malice and lack any factual basis. My organisation’s investments are a testament to my dedication to Nigeria and are conducted with integrity.”

He called for transparency and challenged anyone with evidence of wrongdoing to present it, rather than relying on defamatory rumors.

He also revealed that the Nigeria Police Force had thoroughly investigated and cleared him and Tingo Group of any fraudulent activities.

“I extend my sincere gratitude to the Nigeria Police Force’s Criminal Investigation Department for their meticulous investigation and decision to exonerate me and my companies,” he said.

He appealed for continued support of Nigerian entrepreneurs. “I urge Nigerian authorities to support committed investors who are contributing to our nation’s economic growth. We deserve encouragement, not obstruction and defamation,” he concluded.
