Easter reminds us of the sacrifice our Lord Jesus made for us; His vicarious death.

It reminds us of how He took our place so we could take His place. It signifies The death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus.

The Lord Jesus did not do all this for Himself, He did it for us.

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”Isaiah 53:5 KJV

When a lot of people think of Easter, they only think about the Lord Jesus Hanging on the cross, but that’s not all.He was buried and he resurrected on the third day! A Prophecy fulfilled.

When Jesus was on the cross and had already been crucified, something significant happened. One of the soldiers approached Jesus with a spear to make sure he was dead.Jesus was not the first person to be crucified in those days, however, the soldier pierced him with the spear through his side, and the Bible tells us in John 19:34, “forthwith came there out blood and water.”

How can that be if the man was already dead?. Ordinarily, it shouldn’t come out like that; he bore witness, he said that’s blood and water coming out, and in John 2:19-21, he was talking about the temple of his body. “He is our lamb sacrificed, the new temple, the new and living way when he died, he tore the old temple in two opening and the new and living way, that old temple is gone, the new and living temple is here. Jesus Christ is our temple. The lamb was slain once, you never have to come to the temple again and see the blood, and he was slain once and for all.”

If Christianity were all about salvation from sin, there wouldn’t have been the need for Jesus to rise from the dead. His death on the Cross would have been enough; it paid for all our sins and guaranteed complete propitiation. However, that’s redemption and not Christianity!

Redemption refers to saving someone by paying a price. When Jesus died, He paid the price for man’s redemption with His own life; He did that for all humanity; not for Christians. The Christian isn’t the man that Christ died for. Look at it this way: when Jesus hung on the Cross, in the mind of God, we were all hanging there too (in Him), for He was our representative. When He cried out, “It is finished,” and gave up the ghost, we also died in Him.

Now, here’s the big thing, which Satan didn’t see coming and the angels still marvel at and seek to look into: Christianity is based on the resurrection of Jesus, and not on His death. The resurrection of Jesus Christ gave us something far beyond redemption; it ushered us into a newness of life. We’ve been raised up together with Christ (Ephesians 2:6).

But In all of these, the first step in living and enjoying this newness of life is being born again as Romans 10:9-10 says

”that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.“

Kindly say this prayer aloud;

“O Lord God, I come to You in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Your word says,”…whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:21).

I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit and according to Roman 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thy heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”,

I declare that I am saved; I am born-again; I am a child of God!

I now have Christ dwelling in me, and greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4)!

I now walk in the consciousness of my new life in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!”
