Jude 1: 8 says, “Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities”.
Beloved, of a truth, there is no more doubt that the era we are now is no other time than the beginning of End Time, the end of dispensation of grace, the time in which the affairs of this world are to be wound up. That time, which our Lord Jesus Christ has spoken of and of which He has warned us to take caution of. One of the noticeable signs of this time is the presence of filthy dreamers who speak evil of dignities, misrepresent the truth of the Scripture, whose stock in trade is calumny and slandering. These ungodly dreamers who change the truth of God into lie have in these last days penetrated into many institutions particularly the Christendom to hide and deceive some believers. Some of them came under the guise that they are activist to blackmail the church of God.
This class of people trade only in falsehood and deceit, and can proceed to the extent of attempting to shake our belief in Christ Jesus and His grace. We must take heed that we are not deceived by these people who produce false commissions, pretend to have immediate warrant and direction from God when they have not. We must beware of filthy dreamers who pretend to have revelation, and admit them without sufficient proof, who teach that which is contrary to the truth as it is in Jesus, which is according to godliness. We must beware of them, suspect them, try them, and when we have discovered their falsehood, avoid them, and have nothing to do with them. We must stand upon our guard against this temptation, which has become common in this end time for we know that wherever and whenever revival is going on, Satan and his agents are most busy.
Rom. 2: 2 says, “But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things”
It is certain that we know that God frowns against filthy dreamers. You are aware, I am aware and everybody is aware that for certainty the judgment of God is without prejudice, and that the wages of sin is death. So, as Christians, we should know that it is a greater wickedness to approve and applaud sin, than it is to act and commit sin. To delight in sin, is worse than to do sin. When a man takes pleasure in the wickedness of others, it demonstrates he has a strong affection to sin, and this brings him nearer to the devil in sinning. He that has pleasure in those that do evil no doubt loves wickedness for wickedness’ sake and thus, he encourages sinners in sin, and heaps the guilt of others upon his own head. As we know that no deeper degree of depravity can be found than when men call evil good, and cherish it. We must take heed not to partner with filthy dreamers or delight in their ungodliness because there is no excuse for sin.
Such is God’s hatred against sin, and such is the impartiality of His justice towards sinners, that no offender can expect to escape the judgment of God for the presumptuous sin. If a Gentile and Jew conspire to join hands and sin together, they shall suffer together; for there is no respect of persons with God.
Jer 23:32 says, “Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD”
God is against filthy dreamers, agents of the devil who prophesy false dreams. Who came to spy our liberty, steal our faith, kill our joy, and destroy our souls. They speak against evangelism, tithes, mode of worship, dressing and complain about time and our devotional praises. These people cannot differentiate between libation and oblation; neither can they distinguish holiness and profanity. They are artful and wicked men who had crept into the church, pretending to be religious, but whose doctrines tended to sap the very foundations of truth. They professed to understand more the Christian religion, when in fact they denied some of its fundamental doctrines; they professed to be holy, when in fact they are living most scandalous lives. Of course we know that in all ages there have been men who were willing to do this for base purposes.
2Pet. 2: 2 says, “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction”
The way of error is a hurtful way, yet many are always ready to walk therein. But let us take care we give no occasion to the enemy to blaspheme the holy name whereby we are called, or to speak evil of the way of salvation by Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. These seducers use feign words, to deceive the hearts of their followers. Thus they are condemned already, and the wrath of God abides upon them. Remember that God cast angels down from all their glory and dignity, for their disobedience. God is not a respecter of person, if any creature sins, even in heaven, he will suffer in hell. Sin is the work of darkness, and darkness is the wages of sin. If the sin be universal, the punishment shall likewise extend to all. If in a fruitful land the people abound in sin, God can at once turn a fruitful land into barrenness, and a well-watered country into ashes. No plans or politics can keep off judgments from a sinful people. Therefore it is important for the children of the Lord, living among the most profane, to retain their integrity or otherwise receive the same punishment meant for the ungodly.
Beloved, the filthy dreamers in our midst have been foretold by the Scripture, thus we are warned to not only flee from them but also flee from any appearance of their instruments by which they have devised to hoodwink or enslave us. We should watch against all occasions of sin and flee from it.
Those that flee from all appearance of the enemies devices shall not only have their bread, and their water sure, but shall, by faith, see the beauty of holiness. So, let us therefore as genuine Christians have nothing to do with filthy dreamers in all manner of conversation in these last days, in order to maintain our relationship with God.
