Suspected cultists have killed a 200 level student of Federal University Wukari (FUW) in the department of Biological Science in Taraba State.

The student identified as Mark Shagari was allegedly stabbed by a gang of 7 persons suspected to be cultist within the University community at a location called Student’s Villa.

The twenty years old Shagari died after sustaining multiple knife injuries at about 8:00pm opposite Atoshi students villa.

The University’s director of Public Relations, Ashu Agya confirmed the death of Shagari but did not say if he was killed by cult members.

Ms. Agya also confirmed that the school authority are working with the police to ascertain what actually transpired.

“The parents of the victim are already around we are presently in a security meeting to look at the matter” she said

Sources alleged that Shagari was stabbed while struggling with the suspected cultists who came as if they wanted to snatched his phone.

“There are cult groups in the university that specialised in snatching expensive handsets and other valuables, they also engage in raping. So they came to the victim pretending they are the group source said.

The source said immediately the corpse was discovered a team of police detectives visited the scene and the corpse was immediately move to Wukari General hospital.
