Alhaji Ismaila Maihanchi, House of Representatives member-elect for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing federal constituency is dead.
Maihanchi, 36, who won the election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general elections died in the early hours of Saturday at a hospital in Abuja after a brief illness.
A statement by his family disclosed that the funeral prayers for Maihanchi would hold on Sunday April 23, 2023, at the Emir of Muri’s palace, Palace Way, Jalingo, Taraba State by 9am before internment.
Maihanchi who was born on October 22, 1986, was the CEO of Maihanchi Integrated Solutions Ltd, and an Adviser to Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku. He was a father and grassroots politician who contested the seat against incumbent and other top aspirants, and won landslide.
Meanwhile, the immediate past Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly Prof Joseph Albasu Kunini has commiserated with the family of Maihanchi and the entire people of the state following the sudden death of the House of Representatives member-elect.
Kunini described Maihanchi as a promising young man with enormous potentials whose life had been cut short just when his services were needed the most by his people.
