At today’s Africa Digital Commerce & Fintech Summit in Lagos, Taojaa was recognized as one of the Top 3 Most Innovative eCommerce and Fintech Platforms in Africa, an honor that reflects its rapid rise since launching in 2022.
From its earliest days, Taojaa set out to simplify digital commerce for African entrepreneurs by offering a fully integrated, cloud based toolkit that lets merchants create branded online storefronts in minutes, manage products and orders, handle invoicing and receipts, and run promotions—all from a single dashboard.
During the summit’s live demonstration, the company unveiled two headline features: a real time analytics dashboard that delivers instant insights into sales performance and customer behavior without any third party add ons.
According to Taojaa, SmartSync can reduce manual order entry tasks by up to 70 percent.
Merchants on the platform have reported average revenue increases of around 35 percent within their first six months of use, attributing the growth to faster checkout experiences and more efficient back office processes.
Summit attendees learned that Taojaa’s payment integration now spans leading pan African gateways, enabling businesses to accept card payments, mobile money transfers, and direct bank deposits with same day settlement and fees as low as 1.5 percent citeturn2search1.
Invoicing and billing have also been enhanced to support multiple currencies and region specific tax rules, simplifying compliance for cross border trade.
In a special session on fintech innovation, Taojaa highlighted its USSD based microloan pilot, launched in partnership with a national central bank this February. The service has already disbursed over ₦200 million in working capital to more than 40,000 traders, all via simple feature phone menus, and boasts a repayment rate exceeding 95 percent. This program exemplifies Taojaa’s strategy of leveraging existing digital infrastructure to expand access to finance for underserved merchants outside major urban centers.
Looking ahead, the company announced a series of regional developer hackathons to be held in Abidjan and Nairobi this summer. These events will invite third party builders to extend Taojaa’s core platform, creating plugins for loyalty rewards, AI powered customer support chatbots, voice activated inventory updates, and other merchant focused tools.
With Africa’s digital commerce market projected to grow at more than 20 percent annually through 2028, Taojaa’s recognition at the summit underscores its role as a home grown catalyst for entrepreneurial growth. By uniting eCommerce and fintech capabilities in a single, scalable platform, Taojaa is empowering a new generation of African businesses to compete on the global stage.
