The Kaduna State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has felicitated the state governor, Uba Sani, over last Friday ruling by the Apex court which affirmed him as the duly elected governor of the State for the March 18, 2023 governorship election.

The main opposition party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Mohammed Isah Ashiru, had challenged the election of governor Uba Sani at the election petition Tribunal, Appeal Court and the Supreme Court.

The Kaduna Council of NUJ described the decision of the Supreme Court as a resounding victory for all peace loving citizens of the state.

The Union appealed to all and sundry to support and cooperate with governor Uba Sani for a more peaceful and prosperous Kaduna State.

In a statement on Monday jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Council, Hajiya Asma’u Yawo Halilu and Gambo Santos Sanga expressed optimism on the ability and capacity of Governor Uba Sani to effect positive changes and restore the hope of the common man.

“We believe that the governor has the capacity to restore peace and security, unity and religious harmony as well as socioeconomic and political growth in the state.

“The Kaduna State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) wishes to join other well meaning Nigerians to congratulate the Executive Governor of the state, Senator Uba Sani over the last Friday ruling by the Apex court affirming him as the duly elected governor in the February 2023 gubernatorial election held in the state.

“Governor Uba Sani has demonstrated visionary qualities of a leader with genuine concern for the welfare and wellbeing of the citizens through renewed approach towards inter-ethnic and religious tolerance in all sections of the state, hence the need for prayers and cooperation by all to enable him succeed in his developmental projects.

“We implore people in Kaduna state to take advantages of the meaningful developmental policies and programs of the governor Uba Sani led administration for lasting security and harmonious coexistence,” the statement said.
