A Chieftain and former presidential aspirant of the Labour Party (LP), Faduri Oluwadare Joseph popularly called Fadojoe, has said that the 2027 general elections will be decided by the masses who are going through socioeconomic hardship in the country, and not by politicians who are defecting to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

In a statement on Tuesday, Joseph expressed worry about the current state of Nigeria that the nation’s, “democracy is in danger where politicians continue to decamp from APC to PDP and from PDP to APC”.

According to him, “what we have now is not a country, but a jungle where injustice and suffering rule”, expressing anger about the recent killings in Plateau, Benue, and other parts of the country.

“While innocent Nigerians were being slaughtered, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was on a foreign trip and didn’t even bother to cut it short. A true leader would have returned immediately—just like the President of Ukraine once did when his country was attacked while he was in South Africa.

” I call on Nigerians, especially the youth to stop supporting leaders who are only after their own gain. We need leaders who care about the people, not those jumping from one party to another just to stay in power”.

The LP Chieftain criticized those joining APC, saying, they think Tinubu is their only hope, even when it’s clear that his party has allegedly brought more pains to Nigerians.

He argued that,”in a saner clime politicians will not be decamping to a party that has so failed Nigerians”.

Joseph further added that, “suffering will speak loudest in the 2027 election—not the voices of old politicians who have looted the country dry.

“These so-called politicians have stayed in power for years without anything to show in their communities. All they do is to buy motorcycles or give out small cash to a few people to keep them quiet, while their neighborhoods remain undeveloped.

“I therefore urge Nigerians to get their voter cards and be ready. It’s time to retire these old politicians who don’t care about us. Let them go into life retirement. We’ve had enough of the same faces, the same lies, and the same pains”.

He challenged every Nigerian to make the 2027 election about the people, not the politicians, adding that it should not be politics as usual, but suffering people campaigning across the nation.

“We need young, strong and capable leaders who will work for the people, not those spending our money abroad on health issues while Nigerians suffer at home. Let’s come together. Let’s rescue and renew Nigeria. The time is now”. The statement said.
