In the bid to boost tourism and provide an opportunity for students to unwind and network, Verified Creative House and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) are organsising a beach party in Lagos.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, recently, the Creative Director of the Student Festival Committee, Tiley Folahan, said, “The aim of the Student Beach Festival is to unite students from diverse backgrounds, create networking opportunities and indulge in moments of enjoyment.”
He disclosed that the event will be held on December 13, 2023 at Gold Beach in Lagos and will serve as a stage to showcase the creative talents thriving on various campuses in the country. He added that the objective of the festival is also to inspire and instill hope in the talents in Nigerian youth, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and aspirations. Folahan asserted the event seeks to empower students in terms of creating job opportunities. He said, “We have contracted over 500 ticket agents across all campuses in Nigeria, granting them the opportunity to sell tickets and earn commissions.”
“We are also collaboratively engaging with over 200 students in organising this event, resulting in a total of 700 student partners,” he said.
He said that the organisers are optimistic that the project will lead to positive outcomes and signify an innovative leap toward encouraging students to venture into positive endeavours on their respective campuses across the country.
Also speaking at the event, Samuel Ojetola, the Head of the Planning Committee, said that the committee has collaborated with Rapid Response Squad of the Nigeria Police to provide security at the event.
He assured that attendees will have a swell time, adding that there will be inter-campus competitions in dance, rap, music, and others.
