The Seaport Terminal Operators Association of Nigeria (STOAN) has extended heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho on his recent appointment as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). In a statement released on Tuesday, STOAN Chairman, Mrs. Vicky Haastrup, expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for selecting a seasoned professional from within the NPA to lead the organisation.

Mrs. Haastrup voiced her confidence in Dr. Dantsoho’s ability to enhance the efficiency and revenue generation of the NPA, stating, “On behalf of the Seaport Terminal Operators Association of Nigeria (STOAN), we extend our warmest congratulations to Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho on his well-deserved appointment as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority. His appointment is a testament to his dedication, expertise, and hard work in the maritime sector.”

Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho’s appointment by President Bola Tinubu on July 12, 2024, marks a significant step for the NPA. Dr. Dantsoho brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously held various key positions within the NPA. His past roles include Assistant General Manager, Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Port Manager at Onne Port, and Principal Manager of Tariff & Billing.

Dr. Dantsoho holds a Doctorate degree in Maritime Technology from Liverpool John Moores University and a Master’s degree in International Transport from Cardiff University, both prestigious institutions in the United Kingdom. His extensive academic and professional background positions him as a capable leader poised to steer the NPA towards greater achievements.
