• Says Achievements Unprecedented In History Of Institution

The South-South Professional & Transparency Initiatives (SSPTI) has commended Dr Henry Adebowale Adimula, the immediate past Principal/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) in Effurun, Delta State, for his significant contributions to the institution’s educational standards.

SSPTI, known for advocating for transparency and accountability in public institutions across the Niger Delta region, conducted an independent investigation before deciding to commend Dr Adimula’s managerial and administrative competence.

In a statement signed by Dr Ugochukwu Alozie and Engr. Kayode Ayomide, Chairman and Publicity Secretary respectively, SSPTI highlighted Dr Adimula’s achievements during his three-year tenure, emphasizing their positive impact on the institution.

“Our findings revealed that some of Dr Henry Adimula’s major achievements, which are verifiable, include the commissioning, equipping, and commencement of training at the PTI Fire Academy, the establishment of the PTI Skill Development Academy and Entrepreneurship Center,” the statement read.

SSPTI further listed Dr. Adimula’s contributions, including the inauguration of Mechatronics engineering, Natural gas processing, and computer engineering programs, with a focus on developing software for the oil and gas sector. Additionally, he oversaw the installation and commissioning of a glass-blowing workshop, a modular refinery for training, research, and development, and the renovation of PTI’s lecture theatre.

Dr. Adimula also hosted the International Conference of Hydrocarbon Science and Technology in Abuja, bringing together major industry players to exchange ideas. He facilitated collaborations with critical stakeholders, including PTI/OPTS to enhance training curriculum and PTI/NCDMB to deepen local content in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

“Our findings also revealed some major ongoing projects, including working with the African Petroleum Producers Organization to designate PTI as a regional centre of excellence, making the institution more accessible and recognized as the best,” the statement continued.

SSPTI acknowledged Dr. Adimula’s efforts to increase the institute’s visibility, including fostering closer PTI-Industry partnerships, developing National Occupational Standards for skills in the Petroleum sector, establishing a Dive Center of Excellence, and engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

The organization urged those who have attempted to tarnish Dr. Adimula’s reputation to cease their efforts, emphasizing that his record of achievements speaks for itself. SSPTI stated that Dr Adimula left office with honour after serving his term meritoriously and that his legacy of good works and accomplishments will be remembered wherever he goes in the future.
