• Condemns Appeal Court’s conflicting judgement against Kano governor

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), South-South zone, has accused the 2023 presidential candidate of the party, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, of the crisis that engulfed the NNPP.

It has also berated the Court of Appeal for its conflicting judgement against the NNPP and the governor of Kano State, Abba Kabiru Yusuf, and pledged its total support for the governor.

The party’s positions were parts of the resolutions contained in its communique issues at the end of executive and stakeholders meeting held in Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt, yesterday.

In the eight-point communique, which was signed by the National Vice Chairman, South-South zone, Emmanuel Nwabrije, the party reaffirmed the dissolution of the Abba Kawu Ali-led National Working Committee (NWC).

Also, the South-South executive committee and stakeholders reaffirmed the expulsion of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The party recognized and released the names of state chairmen of the zone, who included: Ayoro Paradise A.(Delta), John Agbaje (Edo), Harry Richard (Rivers), Joseph Eshiet Eshiet (Akwa Ibom) and Austin Asuquo (Cross River).

It said: “We, the executive committee and stakeholders gladly passed vote of confidence on the founder and life member of Board of Trustees, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam.

“The executive committee and stakeholders reaffirmed the appointment of new National Working Committee under the able leadership of Dr. Agbo Major.

“The executive committee and stakeholders reaffirmed the election of Dr. Tope Aluko as Board of Trustees chairman and Engr. Mohammed Baboyo Abdullahi as Board of Trustees Secretary.”

The meeting was attended by all the executive committee members and critical stakeholders of the South-South zone.
