Singer and song writer, Ayeni Adewale Benjamin, has expressed deep concerns over the increasing number of music producers who now venture into the trade of singing, a departure from their core mandate of song production. The Ekiti-born singer expressed mixed feelings about what appears to be a growing trend across the industry, saying he welcomes the idea as it helps to further widen the music net of Afrobeat to the world. He appreciates the fact that Afrobeat music has become one of Nigeria’s biggest exports, an industry he believes has grown from the very scratch to where it is today with little or no monetary support from government.
The dark-skinned artiste who has just released a new song titled ‘Home Tonight’ with a video slated for release on the 31st of October has charged his colleagues to do more and not leave the “juice” in the hands of song producers who appear to be doing quite well as recording artistes today.
Razzy AG who recently hinted on plans to collaborate with a frontline artiste before Christmas maintains he is not going back on that plan, as he tries to hire a veteran broadcaster and music promoter whose name he didn’t mention as his Manager. He believes with the coming on board of this individual, a lot will be achieved in weeks and months ahead.
The ‘Home Tonight’ crooner was recently spotted somewhere on the island in company of a highly placed night life business mogul. We wait to see if that translates into a club tour or something else up his sleeve.
