Sports Opportunities For Africans (SOFA), yesterday kicked off a two-day sports awareness program for grassroot footballers in Ajegunle, Lagos.
The program tagged “Football and Walk for Health Awareness Campaign for Footballers,” is scheduled to help sensitised athletes on the need to take good care of their health in pursuit of their career.
Having sealed a partnership deal with Chioma Ajunwa Foundation, Paddysco Sports Limited and a host of others, CEO, SOFA Network, Godswill Nwosu kicked off the event with a background knowledge of his outfit. Stressing further, the sports enthusiast further disclosed the initiative is to help connect young Africans and athletes with international opportunities.
“Our outfit help connects African athletes with international sports opportunities. We work with some of our foreign partners to ensure that young athletes are able to have the opportunity of advancing their football career.”
“This programme is put together to educate athletes in many area of their endeavour. A lot of athletes are already making mistakes of being involved in sport and not understanding how to behave in line with their health.
