Social media expert and founder of Black Digital Blueprint, a platform that teaches how to grow sales using Facebook/Instagram advertisements, Danielle Holmes has described social media as “ a fantasy land” but pointed out what people in business are not doing rightly to maximise the potentials it presents.
In explaining what it entails to maximise the potentials of social media for financial prosperity, the African-American lady from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania says being oneself is the key.
“What it takes is just being yourself. So many people now are just trying to sell. Sell online to make money. Social media is almost like a fantasy land. But people put the phone down and are living in reality. Some reality is harder than others. So being your authentic self, showing the wins and lessons, and some of your favorite places to eat, go a long way. Compared to just trying to appear perfect and/or simply sell a product. When people connect to my brand, the Danielle Holmes brand, they quickly learn that it’s forward, straight to the point, no fluff, honest and real,” she avers.
Speaking further, she stated that creating a successful business page on Instagram or Facebook takes a lot of patience.
“You have to understand it’s a marathon not a race. Being patient and allowing yourself time to learn and grow. So many people see other success stories and expect their process to look the same, when it doesn’t, they think they failed or is doing something wrong. That’s not the case. I guess the pitfalls will circle back to the rudiments, just giving yourself grace. We usually quit before we start. We mentally fail before we actually fail. If you can control your mind and your thoughts you can control your outcome. I know someone would rather have gotten a techno answer, but trust me for that’s the best answer. The technical stuff you can find on YouTube. This is the stuff no one really tells you,” she says.
Danielle Holmes highlights some activities that may be detrimental to your online business based on the contents you post on your page.
“People just posting their products over and over can be a problem as well as not understanding how to make good content. Creating a post online should take time. From the product placement, lighting, background and angle. A lot of people are either lazy with this or clueless as to how important a post is.
As an online business, your Instagram posts are a major deciding factor in whether or not a customer wants to get to second base with you (going to your site)…so the posts on social media should be calculated and strategic,” she advises
Danielle Holmes has made a name for herself running ads on social media and teaching people on how to run an online business. Presently, she runs 3 online stores and sells her e-books as well as run courses who wants to have the blueprint of running an online business.
She established her company, Black Digital Blueprint in 2019 after previous encounter with failure as an entrepreneur. She started her entrepreneurship in 2013 by getting started with an MLM company that eventually went down in Feb 2015.
“That’s where my first taste of selling online came from. When the company went down, I had no other income. For months, I was in limbo not knowing what to do. By June I was down to my last $650. I chose to start an online business instead of pay my rent (also $650). The first 2 years were tough until I learned how to run ads on Facebook and Instagram. In the third year that store made me a millionaire. Making my first million in 9 months. I went on to make 2 more online stores since then, I decided to teach ads, the skill that changed my life so dramatically. I knew others needed this information. My course was released early 2020,” she recalled in a recent interview.
According to her, “My mission is to provide tools to the beginner or advanced entrepreneur, that will assist in growing their business. I aim to inspire simple and complex thought processes in the way that they approach and navigate the marketing world as it relates to e-commerce and their businesses. My vision is to build a fundamental and advance course that can significantly increase the sales of the everyday entrepreneur.”
Danielle Holmes (30) is from Pennsylvania in the United States of America. She graduated High School, finished CNA school. She attended LPN school and RN school.
She dropped out of RN school twice and failed out the third time in her first semester. Not that she wasn’t smart enough, as she said, but the third time she went, she had her business. So, instead of being in class focusing on the work she would be in the back, building email marketing campaigns, editing her website etc.
She would record the lectures and made plans to listen to it when she had time but never got around to doing that. When it was time to take the test she hardly ever knew what the answers were. By the time she took her final she failed. But her gain is that she learned how to run ads a month later.
She was raised by a single mom, no child support, no support from grandparents, aunts or uncles. It was just her mom and 3 older sisters. She was the youngest.
