Despite losing the first leg of the Championship Playoff against Outlaws Athletics, the Lagos Rebels are aiming for an upset in the second leg scheduled for Sunday in Lagos.
Defensive Linebacker for the Rebels, Raphael Kunle, said that they went back to the drawing board to analyze their mistakes and make corrections.
It was a massive loss in the first leg played at the Meadow Hall, Lekki, Lagos, with the Outlaws winning the first leg 40-6 and the Rebels will have to overcome a 34-point loss to qualify for the Community Bowl.
“We have gone back to the drawing board and will surely come back stronger in our next game against the Outlaws,” he said.
In the second playoff, it was a close game between Titans Athletics and Warriors Flag Football with Warriors coming through with a 28-22 points result.
The two will go against each other on Sunday for a place in the Community Bowl.
Outlaws remain the team to beat and the co-owner of the team, Izel Uanikhehi, they are already looking forward beyond the Community Bowl as their target will be to play the winner of the Season X league season, The Panthers.
