Vice President Kashim Shettima has emphasised the importance of family values in nation-building at two wedding ceremonies in Jalingo and Lagos.

Speaking at the wedding of Keziah Kefas, daughter of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, he urged couples to embody patience and love, stressing that are essential for a successful marriage.

Reflecting on parenthood, he acknowledged the bittersweet nature of letting children go.

While underscoring the true essence of marital bliss, the VP observed that “all the beautiful faces that adorn this hall are a reflection of the beauty of marriage, however, it is not always rosy and smooth-sailing. It comes with its own ups and downs.”

At the wedding of Victor Egbetokun, son of the Inspector General of Police, Shettima praised the IGP’s character, quoting Abraham Lincoln on the true test of a man’s character being power.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, the VP said: “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power. This is the beauty of the IGP.

“On behalf of the President, we wish you a very happy marriage,” he added.
