Vice President Kashim Shettima, yesterday, inaugurated various projects initiated by the Chairman, Chrome Group, Emeka Offor in Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra State.
Among the projects inaugurated included an electric meter production factory, Ijele FM Igbo radio Station, phase two of Sir Emeka Offfor Touch a Life Housing Project and flag off of other widows empowerment programmes.
Speaking during the inauguration of an electric meter production factory, Shettima said the energy factory, called Advanced Energy Management Solutions Limited (AEMSL), would help the Federal Government in its efforts at addressing the power challenges in the country.
The vice president, who acknowledged the electric meter shortage in the country, said the factory would help reduce the meter shortage gap.
“We believe the establishment of the factory will help resolve the power supply challenges facing the country by addressing the critical issue of very high metering gap among consumers.
“It is also a direct response to the call by the Federal Government for local and foreign investors to invest in Nigeria, create jobs and stimulate economic activities in Nigeria,” he said.
AEMSL Chief Executive Officer, Okechukwu Onyejiuwa, said the factory has capacity to produce 1.4 million meters annually, at the same time produce Single Phase and Three Phase as well as Maximum Demand meters.
He also revealed that the factory would create about 500 direct jobs, comprising majorly of engineers, technicians as well as finance and administration professionals.
Chairman of Chrome Group and SEOF Founder, Emeka Offor, described the inauguration as multiple milestones in its journey towards transforming lives and creating a brighter future for the society.
He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and said his vision and courage for uncommon decisions that will lift Nigeria into prosperity requires commendation.

“With the official launch of Ijele FM Radio Station today, we will be embarking upon a new era of communication and community engagement.
“This radio station will broadcast solely in Igbo language and it will represent not only a platform for entertainment and news dissemination, but also a medium for promoting unity, progress, and social cohesion. Through Ijele FM, we aspire to amplify the voices of the voiceless, cultivate informed and empowered citizenry, and promote dialogue that fosters understanding and unity,” Offor said.
