Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, will host Nigeria’s elite today, as Arise News Channel presents “The Arise Gala, Women Making Impact 2025.” This grand event commemorates the 65th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence by honouring 65 outstanding women, who have made significant contributions to the country’s growth and development.
Awardees include Dr. Folashade Okoya, managing director of Eleganza Industrial City Limited.
Dr. Okoya is a renowned entrepreneur and industrial magnate, celebrated for her exceptional leadership, resilience and influence.
The Arise News Channel’s Board of Editors recognised Dr. Okoya’s outstanding achievements, stating, “Your exceptional accomplishments as one of Nigeria’s female leaders and change-makers have earned you a place among the 65 outstanding women being honoured.”
Dr. Okoya’s impressive career spans over 17 years, during which she has demonstrated expertise in general management, operations planning, budgeting, human resources and sales distribution.
Her leadership has been instrumental in growing Eleganza Industrial City Limited, providing employment to over 3,000 workers in Lagos State and its environs.
A highly educated and experienced executive, Dr. Okoya holds an OND in Banking and Finance from Lagos State Polytechnic and a BSc in Sociology from the University of Lagos.
She has received numerous awards and honours for her contributions to humanity, including the national honour of Member of the Order of the Niger and a Doctor of Science honorary degree in Business Management and Corporate Leadership from European American University.
Dr. Okoya is happily married to Alhaji Rasaq Okoya, the chairman and chief executive officer of Eleganza Group of Companies.
She attributes her success to her husband’s inspiration and mentorship, saying, “He encouraged me to push myself, and I am lucky to have found my mentor in my beloved husband.”
