The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Mrs. Linda Nkechi Oti representing Abia State and 17 others as in the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal (RMAFC).
Acting on the report of the Senate on National Planning, Economic Affairs and Finance at plenary on Wednesday presented by its Chairman Senator Abdullahi, Yahaya Abubakar (PDP, Kebbi North) the Lawmakers approved and confirmed the appointment of the persons nominated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Yahaya in his report said the nominees were thoroughly screened by the committee, he described them as qualified enough for the positions urging the Senate to grant them confirmation.
In line with the requirements of the Senate’s Rules and Business, the Senate dissolved into the committee of the whole to consider Senator Yahaya’s Report following a motion moved by the Deputy Leader of the Senate, Senator Ashiru Oyelola, Kwara South.
During the confirmation session each of the nominees read out by the Senate President Godswill Akpabio who presided over the day’s plenary received the confirmation votes of the Lawmakers.
Others confirmed as federal commissioners of RMAFC included; Mr Akpan Imo Effiong (Akwa-Ibom); Mr Enefe Ekene (Anambra); Professor Steve Ugbah (Benue); Chief Willie (Cross River) Aruviere Egharhevwe (Delta); Nduka Henry (Ebonyi); Mr Victor Eboigbe (Edo); Hon. Wumi Ogunlola (Ekiti); Ozo Obumreme Obodougo (Enugu); Mr Mohammed Kabeer Usman (Gombe); Alh. Kabir Mohammed Mashi (Katsina); Hon. Adamu Fanda (Kano); Professor Olusegun Adekunle Wright (Lagos); Aliyu Almakura Abdulkadir (Nasarawa); Bako Shetima (Niger); Mr. Amosun Akeem Akintayo (Ogun) and Dr. Nathaniel Adojutelegan (Ondo).
In a brief remark, President Akpabio congratulated the confirmed nominees and urged them to discharge their duties diligently and be good Ambassadors of their various states.
“I urge the nominees to give their Best in RMAFC and they should be good Ambassadors of their various states as they uphold their integrity”, Akapbio stated.
