Former Chief of Air Staff, Isaac Alfa, has accused the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, of planning to install a puppet as governor of the state. Alfa, who recently secured a Supreme Court victory against the current senator representing Kogi East, did not, however, name the alleged ‘puppet’ Saraki is plotting to install.

However, Saraki’s media adviser, Mr. Yusuph Olaniyonu, has refused to confirm or deny the claims when contacted, as he declined comments.

Addressing newsmen, in Abuja, yesterday, Alfa asked  Saraki to obey Supreme Court judgment, which struck out the appeal of Senator Atai Aidoko against an earlier Court of Appeal decision delivered in his favour as the legal occupant of Kogi East Senatorial seat.

He further told Saraki to respect the court decision and stop providing cover for Aidoko, by  immediately swearing him (Alfa) in as soon as the Senate reconvenes on February 19.

Alfa said his action had become necessary to let Nigerians know what he described as Saraki’s embarrassing and selective selection of court decisions to obey or disobey.

“It has become necessary to let the whole world know the embarrassing and selective obedience and disobedience of court orders in the National Assembly by the senate president and the Clerk of the National Assembly.

“The senate president, Bukola Saraki, decides which court order to obey or disobey, depending on who is involved.

“I’m aware from his determination that he plans to install his stooge as the next governor of Kogi State, with senator Aidoko as deputy. He harbours hatred for Igala people of Kogi State, for a perceived wrong they might have done to his father, coupled with his personal hatred for the ex-military, with me as a very high symbol, not minding that I’m in the same party with him,” he said.

Alfa said despite several court decisions in his favour, starting with the Federal High Court order on June13, 2018, that he  be sworn in as senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District, Saraki has blatantly refused to honour the court decisions and has deliberately kept him out of the Senate, thereby denying his people quality representation.
