A mysterious fire Friday broke out at Dan Sulaika Plaza of the popular GSM market located at Farm Centre in the metropolis of Kano State.
Although no life was lost to the tragic incident, the inferno, however destroyed goods and properties worth millions of Naira.
Daily Sun checks indicated that Farm Centre GSM market is a major GSM market, where both new and second-hand handsets and computers, including their accessories are being sold in the state. .
Engineers and artisans who specialize in repairs of computers and handsets also do their daily businesses in the busy market.
As at press time , the fire has been brought under control by officers of the Fire Service and members of the public.

Speaking to journalists at the scene, the treasurer of the Farm Centre Market Association, Hassan Saminu, lamented, “The incident started around noon, catching most shop owners off guard.
“By the time we arrived, the fire had already spread across most of the shops. It started from one of the shops where we suspect a solar battery and electricity connection caused a spark.”
The possible cause of the inferno is not yet known ad the Fire Service is yet to make a statement.
