As Muslims across Nigeria join the global Islamic community to celebrate Eid el-Kabir, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Senator Solomon Adeola have extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah and called for prayers, unity, and sustained peace in the country.

In his Sallah message, Barau emphasised the need for national cohesion and urged Nigerians to use the season to reflect on the values of sacrifice, obedience, and charity as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

“This season reminds us to obey Allah’s instructions, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim. True Muslims should adhere to peace, tolerance, justice, and charity,” he said in a statement signed by his media adviser, Ismail Mudashir, on Thursday, June 5, 2025.

Barau, who also serves as the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, called on Nigerians to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, noting that the President has shown genuine leadership in addressing Nigeria’s challenges.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated strong leadership and genuine commitment in addressing our country’s challenges. In the last two years, he has succeeded to a considerable extent in tackling our security challenges and stimulating our economy,” he said. “By the grace of Allah, the fruits of these efforts will benefit all. We are on the path to prosperity.”

He further pledged that the National Assembly would continue to provide legislative support to consolidate the gains achieved under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Similarly, Senator Solomon Adeola, who chairs the Senate Committee on Defence, urged Nigerians to pray for peace and national security, especially in light of the Tinubu administration’s ongoing reforms.

“As the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently marked its two years in office with acclaimed positive indicators of escaping total collapse of the economy and achievements in socio-economic security gains, the nation needs security, peace, understanding, and sacrifices to consolidate observable gains,” Adeola said in a statement released by his media adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro, on Thursday, June 2, 2025.

The Ogun West senator stressed the importance of embracing Islamic values of peace, unity, and sacrifice, noting that these teachings are essential for national development.

While extending Eid greetings to his constituents, Adeola reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation and the continued delivery of democratic dividends.

“I will continue the effective representation that I am known for through the Renewed Hope Agenda and my facilitated programmes in the areas of education, provision of social amenities like roads, boreholes, and transformers,” he said.
