- Says NFF, players target 12-point haul

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has pleaded with the Nigerians to pray for the Super Eagles for the 2018 Russia FIFA World Cup qualifier ties against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon at the Nest of Champions in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom next weekend.
Answering questions from Daily Sun Sports, the football federation boss pointed out that having done everything humanly possible to prepare for the encounter, the team only requires divine support to overcome the visitors.
The football administrator further noted that the greatest target of everybody would be to secure a maximum 12 points out of the 24 points at stake.
Asked to update Nigerians on the arrangements so far encounter scheduled for September 1, Amaju reassured Nigerians that the federation was battle ready for the encounter.
Emphasizing that the biggest target is to secure 12 points to retain the leadership of the group, Pinnick said: “We are very much on course for the game, in fact, we are battle ready for Cameroon. We have put everything in place and I can tell you that we are not foreseeing any challenge for now.
“The players, the technical sub-Committee and the federation are very much ready.
The atmosphere is very good for us to confront and win Cameroon. The truth is that there is no reason for Nigerians to entertain any fear over the outcome of the match.”
