Three-time African champions, the Super Eagles of Nigeria may draw South American giants, Argentina for the fourth time in the group stage of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The two teams have met three times with the South Americans winning all in the 1994, 2002 and 2010 editions of the mundial.
Going by the FIFA monthly ranking to be released from Zurich on Monday the Eagles are likely to face the Argies again in Russia.
Having accumulated points in the World Cup qualifier against Cameroon and Zambia, Nigeria would retain its place as the fifth best on the continent, while Argentina would be seeded as fifth best team in the world.
With the top six remaining unchanged in the FIFA ranking for October, the seeded countries would be Germany, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Poland, France and host, Russia.
The World Cup finals draw is slated for December 1 in Russia.
Argentina, it would be noted , secured her World Cup ticket on wednesday after beating Ecuador away in Quito by 3-1 with Messi scoring a hatrick.
Argentina went into the game needing an outright win as anything short of the maximum points would have seen her not making it to Russia.
