Bayern Munich will reignite their attempts to sign Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer.
The club chief executive officer Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has insisted the Bundesliga champions will not be perturbed by the Blues’ refusal to sell the 18-year-old in January.
‘We also had transfers in the past that didn’t work at the first attempt, but at the second. And that’s what we will work on now,’ he told Goal and Spox.
‘To lay down a marker costs money. We want the best quality players here at Bayern and Hasan is absolutely convinced of that player.’
Hudson-Odoi is regarded as one of the most talented players ever to come out of Chelsea’s academy.
But under Maurizio Sarri this season he has grown increasingly frustrated by a lack of game time in the Premier League.
For the most part, the electric winger has had to settle for first team action in the cup competitions and is keen to accelerate his development against the best opposition.
Hudson-Odoi’s current contract expires in 2020 and the Stamford Bridge club remain hopeful that he will agree to new terms.
Bayern made four bids over the course of the transfer window, the highest of which was £30million.
But Sarri and the club are desperate to keep the starlet.
The Italian previously said: ‘He is one of the best 18-year-olds in Europe, so it (the situation) is very difficult. The club told me he is out of the market for sure.
He is maybe out of the market in July.’
‘I think he will be the future of our club. I think he will be the future of English football.’
