Real Madrid forward Rodrygo caused a stir a few days ago with a post on WhatsApp following the team’s 1-1 draw against Mallorca.

Initially thought to be fake, Rodrygo’s team confirmed its authenticity but removed it due to widespread misinterpretation.

The message was directed to Spanish media that referred to the new offensive lineup as “The BMV,” emphasizing Vinicius Jr., Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappe but leaving Rodrygo out. Rodrygo stressed the value of each team member—not just the three—in the since-deleted post.

Rodrygo, born Rodrygo Silva de Goes in 2001, is a Brazilian footballer known for his speed and technical skills.

The 23-year-old, who formerly played for Santos FC, moved to Real Madrid in 2019 and made an immediate impression thanks to his versatility and ability to play all attacking positions. He now has a berth in the Brazilian national squad thanks to his achievements.

El Desmarque reported that Rodrygo’s communications are handled by teams in Spain and Brazil. The controversial message was crafted by the Brazilian team, not Rodrygo himself, but it reflected his sentiments. Realizing the message was taken too seriously, his team decided to delete it.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti fully supports Rodrygo notwithstanding this incident. Rodrygo is still intent on establishing his value at Real Madrid even if Manchester City showed interest in him and offered a left-wing position and more money. Like his more well-known teammates, he wants to develop and establish his place on the team and make sure everyone understands how important he is to the group.
