Brazilian footballer, Roberto Firmino has become a pastor aged 32.
The former Liverpool striker became a pastor of Manah Church, an evangelical denomination he founded in Maceio, Brazil, alongside his wife, Larissa Pereira three years ago.
Brazilian news outlet Globo reported that the ordination took place on Sunday, June 30.
Taking to social media, Firmino and his wife said they wanted to reach as many people as possible with God’s love that was imparted to them.
“Since our first encounter with Christ, a desire burned in our hearts. We want people to feel this love that reached us. Now we have another desire and responsibility: to become pastors on behalf of God,” the couple said.
Firmino was first baptised in 2020, just after his wife.
The striker currently plies his trade with Saudi Pro League side, Al Ahli, where he has scored nine times and provided seven assists in 34 appearances.
After eight years, he departed Liverpool in 2023, having netted 111 times and provided 75 assists in 362 appearances.
