Senator Shehu Sani, a former legislator, welcomed the reconciliation attempts between suspended Rivers State Governor Similayi Fubara and his estranged political godfather, Nyesom Wike, as excellent news.
Sani hinted that the battle might not be over.
He did, however, argue that peace should be allowed to return to the state.
The announcement came after President Bola Tinubu reunited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Fubara, with members of the State House of Assembly.
Daily Sun reports that the crisis was resolved when Tinubu met with the aggrieved parties late last night at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
However, in a post on his X account on Friday, Sani stated that people who fought for Fubara won’t be happy and want him to continue fighting.
According to Sani: “The reconciliation efforts in Rivers is good news. Peace needs to return to the state and Fubara needs to return to his seat as soon as possible.
“I know that those who fought for Fubara are not happy and wants him to continue fighting. Fubara is Sim and not Comrade Sowore. The battle may not be over but let peace return to Rivers for now.”
