An FCT High Court has ordered parties to maintain status quo in the suit over the ownership of River Park Estate in Abuja.

Justice S. U. Bature gave the order during the hearing in the suit by JonahCapital Nigeria Ltd against Dunamis International Christian Centre for alleged trespass on the land.

JonahCapital filed the suit seeking to safeguard its right to the plot at Cluster 1A, Plot No 4, Cadastral Zone L05, Lugbe West, measuring approximately 24.72 hectares, pending the determination of the suit.

Earlier, the counsel to JonahCapital, John Idoko Esq, requested to amend the name of the church on the court papers from Dunamis International Christian Center to Dunamis International Christian Centre.

Counsel to Dunamis Church, Felix Tyokase, did not object to the application for amendment of the name.

He, however, maintained that they are not encroaching on the property as claimed by the company, adding that there is no evidence of the said encroachment.

JonahCapital brought the suit seeking an interim injunction restraining the Dunamis Church, an unknown person, and the FCT Minister from clearing, setting out, digging, deploying manpower, constructing, and/or erecting any building whatsoever, or from further deploying manpower, clearing, setting out, digging, constructing, and/or erecting any building whatsoever.

The suit has been adjourned to Wednesday, November 27, 2025, for further hearing.
