Iwunor Anslem Chibuzor popularly known as Rich Plug1 is a rap star that reminds one of the great icons.

Few days ago, the 20 – year-old Anambra State indigene released his latest music project, Olu Remix featuring Jeriq D’ Hussla. This is coming after Olu secured over 100,000 streaming on Audiomack.

 

The song which has an Igbo rap  soothing to the ear is already gaining recognitions on Nigerian airplay.

For Rich Plug1, he looks up to Grammy Award winning Nigerian music stars.

According to the Olu crooner, there are specific things he sees in Wizkid and Burna boy that inspires him.

The Cyprus-based musician said the duo inspire him with their kind of music and it gives him peace of mind.

Rich Plug1 is one of the few upcoming artists who put their soul into their music.

Speaking on what also inspires him, he said, “I get inspired by what is going on within me, what is happening in Nigeria, and what I have been through.”

“ I see Wizkid, 6ix9ine, Lil Durk, Burna Boy, Lil Baby, and some other good artists as role models because they motivate me. If I was asked to pick three top stars for a collaboration, I would pick Wizkid, Lil Baby, and Burna Boy because I find peace, comfort, and fun in their ways of singing, they motivate me to do greater things and put in my best,” he added.

Rich Plug1, also assured his fans that although he is just a green horn in the industry, but he is in to make a difference.

“I’m here to stay and make name for myself, it’s better late than never, everyday I believe I will one day be at the top. My future is on my mind every day, I just want to be great for real, I know I will have to put more effort into what I want. I don’t see anyone as competition,” he stated.

Speaking on how he started music, growing up, and how he turned his world around. Rich Plug said that he had plans to study law and defend humanity in the court of law until the death of his father.

“ I came and got into music because I see myself at the top and I have a great love for music, I see many things I want in music, I love it and I’m going to do my best never to fall back.

“My motivation is where I came from, I did not experience rich background. I get motivated by completing a difficult project, and seeing it through to the end. I really reckon life itself doesn’t bear a meaning and we are given it to wander without a preordained purpose, I live by what comes and goes.”

“My biggest turning point occurred when I was just 14, I haven’t shared it with many people in my life because it’s something that makes me feel a bit bad. At that time, I had a big discussion with my Father, he had better plans for my future and what I would become in the future. Not too long he died, and he was the only one who could get things done for the family, so I had to change plans of studying law. Now I found myself enjoying music, not so bad,” he added.

He said that in 10 years time, he would have achieved his goals; having a family and a stable career.
