The House of Representatives Committee on Information Technology has said it will champion laws that will boost information technology.
The chairman of the Committee, Stanley Adedeji, who stated this at the inaugural meeting of the committee, also promised that the committee, will ensure a robust oversight of the agencies under it.
According to him, the committee will liase with relevant committees to boost Information Communication Technology ( ICT) in the country, so as to review legislations on ICT to bring them in conformity with international best practices.
“Our collective efforts will be geared towards ensuring that all sectors align with the Information Technology mandate, and we are committed to introducing legislation that will transform our nation into a true IT-driven powerhouse.
“Let us move forward with the conviction that our work in this Committee will be instrumental in shaping a more connected and secure future for our dear country together, we can make a profound difference in the Information Technology landscape, bringing our nation to the forefront of global technological advancement
