The Kebbi Government has said that the irregular electricity supply to the residents was due to the fall of national grid from the generation point and not peculiar to the state alone
Special Adviser to the Governor on Power and Political Matters,Alhaji Kabiru Sani-Giant, stated this while briefing newsmen in his office in Birnin Kebbi.
He said that the governor had taken all necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply during and after Ramadan, adding that the state has experienced reduction in power supply due to energy drop nation wide.
Giant recalled that the governor had a meeting with the top management of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KAEDCO) on ways to ensure regular powder supply in the state during which he provided financial support to the company towards the objective .
According to him, “under the arrangement, the six feeders serving the state capital have been allocated specific hours to distribute energy to consumers.
” Gov. Idris has placed premium on energy which is the foundation for economic growth; that is why he has also procured 40 new transformers which will soon be commissioned and installed to boost electricity supply in the state,” he said.
He appealed to consumers of electricity to endeavour to be settle their monthly bills unfailingly to enable KAEDCO purchase more energy from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
