The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Buhari Mustapha and recovered a firearm during a raid on a known black spot, popularly called “Me and You”, in the Masaka area of Karu Local Government Area of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, SP Ramhan Nansel disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday.

Nansel said police operatives attached to the Masaka Division conducted the operation around 10:30 pm on Friday, April 25, in line with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Shettima Jauro Mohammed, for sustained raids on all criminal hideouts across the state.

He said, “During the operation, one Buhari Mustapha, male, 25 years old, from Katsina State, was apprehended.

“A thorough search conducted on the suspect led to the recovery of an English-made Beretta pistol with breech number APL-C42201378075, along with twelve (12) rounds of 9mm live ammunition, all of which have been taken as exhibits.”

He said the Commissioner of Police has ordered a full investigation into the case, with the aim of apprehending other criminal elements and further curbing crime within the area and the state at large.

The commissioner commended the officers for their dedication and consistent pressure on criminal elements and urged them to sustain the momentum in the fight against crime.
